The Empire's most iconic walker has landed at Hobby Collectors Australia. The Bandai Star Wars 1/144 AT-AT Model Kit is in stock now, and it's the perfect excuse to walk through the rest of our growing Bandai Star Wars range — from pocket-sized budget kits through to full display-scale builds.

Spotlight: The AT-AT

Bandai's take on the All Terrain Armored Transport from The Empire Strikes Back is built to recreate the Battle of Hoth on your shelf. At roughly 6⅓ inches long in 1/144 scale, it's an imposing build with genuinely clever engineering — the legs are individually articulated and can bend low enough to recreate the AT-AT's dramatic on-screen collapse, not just its stride.

The kit also comes with a dedicated snow-themed display base, an articulated head, laser-effect parts, two seated 1/144 pilot figures, swappable landing gear, and a full decal sheet. Pick up more than one and you can start building out a proper Imperial assault line.

Currently $89.99 AUD (down from $104.99), in stock and factory sealed.

Beyond the AT-AT: what else is in the range

The AT-AT sits at the top end of a range that spans everything from $14.95 pocket kits to full display-scale builds. Here's how it breaks down.

Display-scale premium kits

This is where the AT-AT lives — bigger, more detailed builds aimed at collectors who want a genuine centrepiece. The 1/144 Millennium Falcon (Rise of Skywalker version) is the current flagship of the range, and the 1/72 X-Wing Starfighter (Red Squadron) gives Rebel pilots the same scale of treatment. If you'd rather build the Empire's reach across the galaxy in one box, the Death Star II & Star Destroyer set pairs a 1/2,700,000 scale Death Star II with a 1/14,500 Star Destroyer for a genuinely dramatic Return of the Jedi display piece.

Character kits

Bandai's 1/12 scale character line brings some of Star Wars' most recognisable figures to the workbench — no glue, full articulation, snap-fit assembly. We stock Boba Fett in two versions (his classic Original Trilogy look and his more battle-worn Mandalorian-era armour), plus Darth Vader and an Imperial Stormtrooper. These build up as genuinely poseable figures rather than static statues, which makes them a good next step for anyone who's built a Gunpla figure before and wants to try a different license.

Vehicle Model line — the budget entry point

This is the line to start with if you want to try a Star Wars kit without committing to a big build. Most sit at $14.95–$15.00 and cover a wide spread of ships: the Star Destroyer, a smaller-scale X-Wing Starfighter, the Millennium Falcon, a combined TIE Advanced x1 & TIE Fighter set, and The Razor Crest from The Mandalorian. Each comes with its own display stand, so even the smallest kits look complete on a shelf. Note: the AT-ST & Snowspeeder set from this same line was sold out at time of writing — worth checking back or asking in-store if that's the one you're after.

Build it in-store

Star Wars kits have quickly become one of the more popular things people bring along to our build nights — there's something about seeing a Star Destroyer and an X-Wing built side by side on the same table. If you pick up the AT-AT or anything else from the range, bring it in and build alongside other collectors rather than tackling it solo at home.
