The Bandai MG 1/100 Gundam Barbatos is a Master Grade kit of Mikazuki Augus's mobile suit from Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, recreating the 4th Form variant with an exposed-frame design and full melee weapon set. Regular price is $89.99 AUD, on sale for $79.99 AUD.

What makes this kit special

Barbatos is built around an "exposed frame" aesthetic — internal Ahab Reactor details and pistons are visible throughout the model, giving it a raw, mechanical look that matches its anime design instead of hiding the engineering under armour panels. It's a very different build philosophy to a typical Gundam kit, and one of the reasons Barbatos remains a fan-favourite years after Iron-Blooded Orphans aired.

Built for melee combat

Unlike most Gundam kits, which lean on beam weapons, Barbatos is a melee-focused mobile suit, and the kit's loadout reflects that: a mace with a needle attachment, a long sword, and a smoothbore 300mm slide gun with folding/sliding function. The kit supports dynamic posing and combat stances through frame expansion mechanics, and includes three interchangeable hands for anime-accurate poses.

Who's this kit for?

Barbatos's exposed frame and melee weapon articulation make it a great pick for builders who want something visually distinct from a standard beam-weapon Gundam, and it's a popular choice for painting projects thanks to the amount of visible frame detail.
