Bandai RG 1/144 Strike Freedom Gundam #14: Gold Inner Frame, 8 DRAGOON Units

The Bandai RG 1/144 ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam #14 is a Real Grade kit of Kira Yamato's flagship mobile suit from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny, and the first RG kit to feature a gold-coloured Advanced MS Joint inner frame. Regular price is $64.99 AUD, on sale for $59.99 AUD — in stock now at Hobby Collectors Australia in Fairfield.

What makes this kit special

This is a genuine first for the Real Grade line: gold-plated internal parts are visible through the DRAGOON wing units, giving the kit a level of internal detail RG builders don't usually get. The kit emphasises dynamic articulation through Bandai's Advanced MS Joint system, and supports Full Burst mode with deployable weapon systems straight out of the box.

Full Burst mode, fully armed

Strike Freedom is one of the most heavily armed Mobile Suits in the Gundam SEED universe, and this kit reflects that: 8x Super DRAGOON deployable wing units for the iconic Full Burst pose, twin beam rifles that combine into a single weapon, dual railguns, a chest-mounted abdomen beam cannon, twin beam sabers, and a beam shield with effect part.

Who's this kit for?

Real Grade sits between HG and MG in complexity, and this kit's DRAGOON deployment and gold inner frame reward some prior RG or HG experience — the weapon articulation is fiddlier than a standard RG build. If you're newer to Gunpla, start with our Gunpla starter guide and an HG kit first, then work up to RG. Check our Gunpla Tools 101 guide for what helps at this level.
