Citadel Tone Pro Paints at Hobby Collectors Australia

Tone Pro is a Citadel paint range with 30 colour families, each in five numbered tones. Tone 1 is the darkest and tone 5 the lightest, so you can paint shadows, midtones and highlights in one colour family without mixing. Each paint comes in a 12ml pot, and the range also includes an 18ml Shading Medium and Blending Medium. It is released from 24 October 2026 and sits alongside the existing Citadel range.

Which tone should I buy?

Tone 3 is the midtone and a common starting point. Tones 1 and 2 suit shading and recesses, and tones 4 and 5 suit highlights.

FAQ

What do the Shading and Blending Mediums do? The Shading Medium turns a Tone Pro paint into a shade, and the Blending Medium slows drying so wet colours blend more smoothly.
