Citadel paint FAQ

What is the difference between Base and Layer paints?
Base paints are thicker and cover in one or two coats. Layer paints are used afterwards to build up highlights over the base colour.

Do I need to prime my miniatures first?
Priming helps paint stick to plastic. A spray such as Citadel Spray Paint: Chaos Black is a common choice (in-store pickup only).

Which paints should a beginner buy first?
A black or metallic base such as Abaddon Black or Leadbelcher, plus a shade such as Nuln Oil or Agrax Earthshade.
